To enroll in the LICQual Level 3 Award in National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Fitness & Health: Participants should have a reasonable level of physical fitness and be medically fit to undertake practical rescue and first aid activities.
  • Swimming Ability: Applicants must be able to swim a minimum of 50 meters in under one minute, tread water for at least 30 seconds, and surface dive to retrieve an object from the deepest part of the pool.
  • English Language Proficiency: Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) is required to follow course instructions and complete assessments.
